The Mission
It is more important than ever to honor the beauty and inclusivity of the arts to uplift our human spirit. Ballet Arquitectònic is a film that showcases the magnificent architecture of Barcelona's Lluis Domènech i Montaner and celebrates his legacy through music and dance.
Domènech i Montaner's buildings stand out for their exquisite design, their feats of engineering, and their commitment to serving the community. A prolific architect of his time, he is almost unknown outside of Barcelona. Ballet Arquitectònic aims to bring his exceptional architecture to the world.
Following the themes of beauty and belonging, our film features a diverse and innovative cast of dancers who are at the top of their fields internationally, including disabled performers.
A cutting-edge delight for the senses, Ballet Arquitectònic shares Domènech i Montaner's enduring values in a universal way. For an idea of the concept, here is a link to our research teaser filmed last year.
We have an exciting opportunity to start the first installment of our film at the incredible Palau de la Música. This beloved Barcelona landmark is the only music hall designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We have some initial funding secured, but we are still looking for an additional $15,000 to cover our costs for the shoot. In particular, we are looking for support to cover travel and artist fees for the amazing dancers in our cast.
We are fundraising for the next four weeks, and all donations to the film are fully tax-deductible with our partnership with the Field!

The Dancers
We have two incredible dancers traveling to Barcelona for this filming: break dancer Samuel "Samuka" Henriques and classical ballerina Nayara Lopes. Coming from opposite sides of the dance world, they represent the diversity of our cast.
Samuka
Born and raised in Brasilia, Brazil, Samuka's dream was to be a professional soccer player. At the age of 14, he was diagnosed with cancer in his right leg, which had to be amputated. After his amputation, he was introduced to breaking and hip-hop. Samuka has toured over 20 countries, and appeared in several films, music videos, and TV shows.
Nayara
Nayara Lopes is a principal ballerina at Philadelphia Ballet. She is an exquisite dancer, emerging choreographer, and an advocate for inclusivity in the arts, representing black women in classical ballet.

Any amount of giving is welcome, and those supporting us at higher levels will receive recognition as Friends of the Film.
Friend - $250
Silver - $500
Gold - $1,000
Platinum- $5,000 and above
Those funding at the Silver level ($500) will receive acknowledgments on social media related to their support for the film.
Those funding at the Gold level ($1,000) will receive acknowledgment on social media and on the official poster for the film.
Those funding at the Platinum level ($5,000) will receive acknowledgments on social media, the official poster, and in the official credits as Supporter.
